Expanding from Personal to Public

September 2021

I am moving my little project along and realize that I want it to become something more and am brimming with ideas. Therapeutic & tender words with a tiny soft animal surprise is an antidote to the separations, changes and losses endured this long pandemic spell.

I miss people, and I miss the easiness of being there with them. The impacts of the collective grief and altered world change us and relationships too. How to creatively connect with those who matter when there is distance to contend with?

First made in the pandemic chapter of life where we chose to live in the remote Bridge River Valley, I was able to get my needle felted critters in with the offerings of artisanal crafts and gifts at the Visitor’s Centre (Haylmore Heritage Site). This was an ideal first start—modest, slow scale and in the heartland from where it began.

Today I had the novel experience of receiving funds from summer sales. It’s all quite exciting.
